All rentals require a minimum $50 deposit. All deposits are non-refundable unless the event is cancelled due to inclement weather. If you wish to cancel your booking, you will receive a rain check for your $50 deposit. (valid for up to one year towards your next rental)
The train rental includes the following:
Our conductors are uniformed and our trains are cleaned and sanitized before and after each use. Our trains have open and covered cars, working seat belts, latching doors, working locomotive horns, realistic sounding train bell, whistles, Music and a loud speaker PA system. In addition, adults can comfortably ride our trains, which is very rare for party trains.
Our Conductor will also wish your child Happy Birthday over the loud speaker PA system.
We recommend booking your train rental as early as possible. Many people have parties at the same time of day, especially on weekends. We will do our best to accomodate your requested time. But the only way to guarantee your date and time, is to reserve your train early, by paying the $50 deposit.
We book up to one year in advance!
If bad weather is in the forecast, we will contact you prior to your event to inquire about your inclement weather plans. We will contact you the morning of your event to confirm your plans. If you still want the train, you are responsible for the remaining balance.
If the weather is bad when we arrive, we will wait until it clears to the point where we can safely operate the train. We will wait as long as possible, without interfering with the arrival time to our next scheduled event. If you contact our office the day before or the morning of your event to cancel due to bad weather, you will receive a rain check good for up to (1) year.
Q: How far in advance do I need to reserve the train?
A: As soon as you have a confirmed date for your event, we highly recommend that you book the train. Don't wait! There's nothing worse than getting your event organized, mailing invitations, then calling to book the train, and finding out that the train is not available. Our party trains are very popular and weekends book up fast! Remember, we book as far as one year in advance.
Q: Is my reservation confirmed when I pay my deposit online?
A: No. Please call, text or email us first to confirm your date and time before paying the deposit online. Once we confirm your date and preferred time is available, you may proceed with paying your deposit online via paypal. We can also take your deposit over the phone.
Q: Does the 1 hour rental price include travel fees and tax?
A: No. The average travel fee for most locations in the Greater Baton Rouge Metro area is $35. The travel fee is based on travel time and distance to your location. Please call, text or email us for an estimate.
Q: Do you service other areas?
A: Yes. We mainly service the Greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area and surrounding parishes. However, if you are planning an event outside of the Greater Baton Rouge metro area, please contact us for a travel quote.
Q: Does the requested party time include the set up time?
A: No. Our goal is to arrive 15 to 20 minutes early to set-up, and prepare the train. The train will be at the designated passenger loading / unloading location at the previously agreed upon start time for your train rental.
Q: What surfaces does the train operate on?
A: All surfaces. The preferred surface is a paved, smooth concrete or asphalt surface. A paved surface will give you the best ride. However, we can operate on grass, gravel or other surfaces, as long as it's a level surface. Some grassy surfaces have a tendency to hide bumps and holes, which can make for an uncomfortable ride. Please contact us if you wish to operate on a grassy or dirt surface prior to booking the train.
Q: Can adults ride the train?
A: Yes. Adults are more than welcome to ride the train. An adult or a responsible teenager is required to accompany small children (i.e. babies and toddlers) while on the train.
Q: What comes with the train?
A: A train conductor, horn, bell, covered and uncovered train cars, seatbelts, and music. We use a kids music playlist from our iPod or we can use your iPod, phone or USB drive for music.
Q: What forms of payments do you accept?
A: We accept cash and all major credit cards. Credit card payments on the day of the event must be authorized prior to the event. If paying with cash, please have exact change, since our drivers do not carry cash.
Q: Do you require a deposit?
A: Yes. A minimum $50 deposit is required for all rentals. However, you can pay the entire amount up front if you prefer. Balances must be paid in full when the train is delivered.
Q: How many people can fit on the train?
A: We have the largest trains in the area. Our trains can hold up to 24 kids or 12 adults.
Q: What supplies are included with my 1 or 2 hr Sno-Ball & Train Rental Combo?
A: Portable Sno-Ball machine, Sno-Ball Syrup, Ice Scoop, Spoon Straws, Paper Napkins, 8oz cups & Spoons. Folding Table (w/o table cloth) and 50ft Extension Cord available upon request at no additional charge. (*Bags of Ice not Included. Typically two or three 10lb bags of ice will be needed for Sno-Ball combo rentals. Customer may purchase bags of ice at their local gas / service station or grocery store)
Q: What supplies are included with my 1 or 2 hr Popcorn & Train Rental Combo?
A: Portable Theater Style Popcorn Machine, 1oz popcorn bags, popcorn Tri-Packs (coconut oil, buttery salt and yellow buttery popcorn) & Popcorn Scoop. Folding Table (w/o table cloth) and 50ft Extension Cord available upon request at no additional charge.
Q: What supplies are included with my 1 or 2 hr Cotton Candy & Train Rental Combo?
A: Portable Cotton Candy Machine, Cotton Candy Cones, Pink Vanilla & Blue Raspberry Cotton Candy Floss Sugar. Folding Table (w/o table cloth) and 50ft Extension Cord available upon request at no additional charge.
Q: Will someone setup the Concession Rental equipment and operate the Popcorn, Cotton Candy or Sno-Ball Machine?
A: Yes. Our Conductors will arrive at your event early enough to setup the rental concession equipment. They will also serve your guests if requested or they can teach you how to operate the easy to use machine, if you prefer. (Some of our customers prefer to serve their own guests- However you must be an adult to use our rental equipment)
Q: Does Party Trains 2 Geaux provide services at public parks (i.e. BREC, State Parks)?
Yes. We have the necessary liability insurance to enter all Louisiana state parks and all local public parks (i.e. BREC) At the time of booking, please let us know which park you have chosen to have your event at. Many parks require proof of insurance information prior to the date of the event. We will gladly send the required information to the park officials for you.
Q: Should I tip the Train Conductor?
A: Tips are always appreciated, but never expected.
Q: How large are the Character Costumes?
A: Our Character Costumes are custom made and designed to fit many different sizes and heights. Feel free to give us a call, send us a text or send us an email if you have any additional questions or concerns.
All cancellations must be called in the day before or morning of your rental. We do our best to accommodate all customers in times of unforeseen weather and/or emergency situations. WE DO NOT AUTOMATICALLY CANCEL DUE TO WEATHER unless we feel it is not safe to operate due to high winds, flooding, heavy rain or lightning.
The customer is responsible for notifying us BEFORE the driver delivers the train, if there is a need to cancel the rental. Once the equipment is delivered, the FULL AMOUNT IS DUE regardless of total time used.
